The 12th "Run in Vyshyvankas" Will Take Place on August 24, 2025, in Kyiv

Creative States, a Ukrainian provider of modern office spaces and services for work and life, together with the "Taras Bulba" marathon club, announce the 12th annual "Run in Vyshyvankas." The event is traditionally dedicated to Ukraine’s Independence Day and will be held on August 24 in Kyiv.

Over the past two years, the event has brought together more than 3,000 participants in Kyiv. These include professional athletes, amateurs, and children who run distances of 5, 10, and 21.1 km.

A distinctive feature of the run is the sportswear with elements of the Ukrainian vyshyvanka (embroidered shirt), which highlights the participants’ national identity and supports the unity of Ukrainians worldwide.

What You Should Know About the Run
The "Run in Vyshyvankas" is a sporting and patriotic initiative that has united people around the world since 2014. Participants wearing Ukrainian vyshyvankas or its symbolic elements complete chosen distances in Ukraine, Europe, the USA, and other countries.

The event founder is Oleksandr Kuzin, a Ukrainian marathon runner and Olympic Games participant. Since 2023, Creative States, a company that creates modern coworking spaces with everything needed for business, inspiration, and comfort, has been a co-organizer of the event.

Charitable Purpose
The event has a charitable nature. Part of the funds from each registration will be donated to charity.

Distances and Participants

• 5 km — for everyone aged 14 and older
• 10 km — from 16 years old
• 21.1 km (half marathon) — from 18 years old
• Nordic walking 5 km — available for all age categories

Children’s Runs:

• 100 m — up to 6 years old
• 500 m — from 7 to 13 years old

Participation for military personnel — free of charge*

07:00 – Opening of the start village
07:00 – 08:00 – Distribution of starter packages for participants from other cities
07:00 – 13:00 – Operation of baggage storage and changing rooms
07:45 – Opening remarks by the organizers
07:55 – Children’s warm-up
08:05 – Start of the 100-meter children’s run (children up to 7 years)
08:15 – Start of the 500-meter children’s run (children 7–10 years)
08:25 – Start of the 500-meter children’s run (children 11–14 years)
08:35 – General warm-up
08:45 – Mass start for 5 km, 10 km, and 21.1 km (half marathon)
08:50 – Start of the Nordic walking 5 km
11:40 – Course closure, awarding of winners and prize-winners of the 5 km, 10 km, 21.1 km, and Nordic walking 5 km races
13:00 – Closing of the start village

The venue will have changing rooms, baggage storage, and pit stops with water and food. In case of an air raid alert, the run will be paused, and participants will be directed to shelters.

• Those wishing to register on August 23 or on race day, August 24, may do so during starter package distribution, subject to available slots. Participants registering after August 22 will join in as FREE RUN format, without a chip or electronic timekeeping.

• From June 16 — 1200 UAH
• From August 1 — 1400 UAH

Safety Rules
In case of an air raid alert in Kyiv, the competition will be paused and resumed* immediately after the threat is lifted.
All participants must follow safety rules: leave the park area and proceed to shelters marked with special signs on the route map.
*Due to the unavoidable break during alerts, schedule changes may occur.
