Ukrainian Veterans Road Running Championship 10km
The Open Championship of Ukraine in athletics among veterans in road running for 10 km is held with the aim of:
- preserving and multiplying the sports glory of Ukraine;
- popularizing a healthy lifestyle and sporting longevity among the population of Ukraine;
- involving middle-aged and older individuals, athletes of different age groups, sports enthusiasts in active participation in mass sports and veterans' sports competitions;
- promoting the ideals of Olympism, promoting the development of veterans' sports, Olympic sports;
- activating physical education and sports activities among veterans of physical culture and sports and the population in the regions of Ukraine;
- determining the best veteran athletes to participate in the 2024 international competitions.
Competition dates and venue
The competition is held from May 18 to May 19, 2024, in Kyiv at the address: Trukhaniv Island, Trukhanivska Street.
Event participants
Teams formed by sports veterans from the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, regions, cities of Kyiv and Sevastopol, who are citizens of Ukraine, registered and residing in these territories, are allowed to participate in the competition based on their health condition as certified by a doctor and the presence of valid medical insurance for the duration of the competition.
Men and women aged 30 and older (from 30 to 34 are non-competitive) are eligible to participate in the competition.
The competition is held in 5-year age categories according to the Rules of Athletics Competitions (hereinafter - Rules). Age categories: 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60-64; 70-74; 75-79; 80+ (75+ for women).
The number of participants in each age category is unlimited.
The competition is held in road running for 10 km:
Women
run: 10 km on the road
Men
run: 10 km on the road
Competition schedule:
May 18, 2024 - arrival day
May 19, 2024
08:00-10:00 - distribution of race numbers;
10:00-13:00 - competition;
13:00 - award ceremony, closing of the competition, departure of participants.
Conditions for determining the championship and awarding winners and medalists
To calculate the overall team score of the competition, teams from the regions of Ukraine are divided into three groups (details in the regulations).
The team championship is determined by the total sum of the best 20 results of personal WMA ratings of members of teams from the regions of Ukraine.
Teams that occupy 1st, 2nd, 3rd places in each group of regions are awarded diplomas from the AVSU of the corresponding degrees.
Winners and medalists in the individual championship are determined separately among men and women:
- in age groups (according to the results)
Athletes who occupy 1st, 2nd, 3rd places in the age groups are awarded diplomas from the AVSU and medals from the Ministry of Youth and Sports (provided there are 3 or more participants in the age group).
